Spring awakens from his winter slumber to the crisp, cool morning air. He lies there listening for familiar sounds of his friends and family. Spring stands and shakes off the frost from his winter coat and places it back into his chest until fall. Spring sets out to meet his friends to enjoy a little fun.
Spring is in the midst of planning his party and is very excited to see all his old friends, family, and especially his father, Abba. He’s dreamt of this reunion all winter long. He thought about the first meal he would eat, the people he would see and all dancing and drinking they would do.
Spring’s father, Abba, arrives early and tells his son that he was disappointed with him. Abba tells him that he is not honoring the duty his father had bestowed on him. Spring had thought only of himself and his partying ways and has failed in his responsibilities
Abba takes his son Spring to the clouds and shows him what his actions had caused. Abba tells his son that if he does not change his way that he this all his power would be stripped and he would become mortal. Spring is upset that he disappointed his father and cries. He cries for days and puts the earth in dire straights of flooding.
Spring gets a visit from Solea, the goddess of the sun. She tells Spring that he needs to stop crying before the land is covered in water. He knew what he was hearing was true. Spring looks up from his tears and instantly falls in love with Solea. Solea had the brightest smile Spring had ever seen.
Spring and Solea fall in love and with their love sprung May flowers, but they knew that after his season was over that he would have to leave but would return the following year. This is where we got the phase. Spring showers bring May flowers.
