Storyboard Text

  • Yes it's finally going to happen of all my years on Venus never have I seen the sun like on Earth.
  • Today the sun will come out for an hour this afternoon so enjoy it while it lasts.
  • What are you looking at freak.
  • Just leave me alone.
  • Very good Margot I love the way you described the sun in your poem.
  • The sun is like a flower that blooms for just one hour.
  • Scientists have predicted that the sun will come out today for an hour.  Margot is excited because when she moved from earth she missed the sun when she would see it.  Now that she lives on Venus she feels like an outcast since she's the only one born on earth.
  • William let me out I'm going to miss the sun.
  • Margot shares her knowledge of the sun the teacher enjoys it but not her peers, especially William. Margot is bullied because she is different and is teased since the sun is coming out. Margot proceeds thorough the day as if nothing is happening, she just wants to see the sun.
  • The sun it feels so nice.
  • The day passes more and the teacher is having the students do assignments having to do with the sun. Margot reads a paper which is a poem and paints a picture. The poem said "The sun is like a flower that blooms for just one hour." the picture was of her house with sun shining brightly with wheat grass and birds flying in the background. The classmates but most of all William are jelaious.
  • No the rain is back.
  • The rain begins to stop and the kids device a plan to throw Margot in a closet and lock her in so she misses the sun. The teacher asks is everyone here but the kids say yes even though they know Margot is missing. Then they proceed to go outside without her.
  • That's the point of the plan.
  • The kids are enjoying their time outside in the sun for an hour. While that happens Margot has given up trying to escape the closet and gets really sad that she is missing the hour for the sun. Meanwhile the kids are having a good time but then a rain drop falls on one of the kids and reality hits them.
  • Yeah and it's so much more fun that way.
  • When the sun fades away the kids head back in the building sad that the sun is gone. When their all inside they go to let Margot out the closet to see that she is super pale and sad. All the kids then see why Margot feels the way she does about the sun but don't show any remorse over the action they committed.
  • Who knows how long until the next time the sun comes out.
