Mrs. Mallard finds out her husband is dead. When she hears this terrible news she immediately starts to cry.
She then started to run up the stairs straight into her room. She just needed a moment of silence.
As she was in her room sobbing she looks outside her window. Her emotion and the look of a beautiful day were extremely opposite.
But the more she looked outside the more calm she began to be. She started to realize that she was now free from him. She did love him but most of the time she didn't and a part of her was glad he was gone.
After she was having a moment her sister started to knock on her door worrying about her. She then said she was fine and that she would come down in a second. When she came down the stairs her husband came in and she was deeply surprised.
She fainted at the surprise that her husband was still alive. Apparently they made a mistake and he was no where near the accident. So she died from the faint and the theme of this story is to be thankful for being free and independent.
