The New Jersey plan favors small states!
The Senate (Smaller states)
House of Representatives (Larger States)
In the year 1787, the colonists sent delegates to Philadelphia, from each state to hopefully improve the Articles of confederation but several issues caused heated arguments..
Through various discussions many plans were proposed, regarding state's representation, such as the New Jersey , and Virginia plan. Slavery being the other major issue discussed was slavery which was eventually alleviated by the 3/5th Compromise.
After arduous hours of arguing, representation was finally solved to everyone's satisfaction by creating the Great Compromise. This meant that two houses were created ( the Senate and House of Reps.) that would even out representation between small and larger states.
