The exposition of The Outsiders is the greaser gang. Ponyboy, Sodapop, Darry, Dallas, Two-bit, Steve, and Johnny live in the town of Tulsa.
When Johnny and Pony are walking home some socs jump them. One try’s to drown pony, and in defense Johnny stabs Bob. Then they run away from the police.
In Windrixville, Pony and Johnny hide in an abandoned church. Dallas comes to get them, and takes them to Darry queen. When they come back the church is on fire and they have to save some children.
The climax is, Johnny dies after the church collapses. He got hurt because a plank fell on him.
The falling action was when Dallas was killed by the police. The reason why he allowed the police to kill him was because he was very sad when Johnny died because Johnny was Dally’s only true friend.
The resolution is when Pony has learned that all of these rumbles are worthless. He realizes this because they didn’t solve anything, the rich will stay rich, and the poor will stay poor. Then he starts to write the book The Outsiders.
