  • American leader Captain John Parker and 4,000 Minutemen  forced the British to retreat . So April, 1775 in Concord, MA  the Americans won and it was the first battle of the revolutionary war. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, " shot heard ' round the world."
  • Saratoga
  • WE ALL SURRENEDER!!!!!
  •  June, 1775 in Boston, MA. General William Howe crossed the bay with 2,200 British soldiers.Marched up but militia waited. William Prescott said, " Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes." Finally, they forced the militia off the hill. Which lead for the redcoats to win the battle of the Bunker Hill. More than 1,000 were killed/wounded,400 militia casualties. 
  • Cameden
  • In late 1777, Washington and his army camped at Valley Forge while it was winter. Army was short on supplies that many soldiers did not have a blanket to cover themselves.Some did not have shoes so they left blood tracks on the frozen ground. Over Winter,They grew weak for no food or warm clothing. Quarter died form,the cold,diseases, and more. Marquis Lafayette said, "The unfortunate soldiers were in want of everything...passed whole days with no food."
  • Battle of Yorktown
  • WE SURRENDER!!!!!!
  • October, 1777 was a turning point of the war. 5,895 British and Hessian troops surrendered their arms. General John Burgoyne lost 86 percent of his expeditionary force. John Burgoynw earned a nickname " Gentlemen Johnny."
  • August 1780, Baron de kalbs people were starving and out of supplies. Baron commanded a force of 5,000 men. When they reached Camden his men were tired and hungry. They weakened by dysentery and 3,000 men were in to fight.
  • In 1781, The Battle of Yorktown all started. The British leader Cornwallis surrenendered which American forces accept at Yorktown. American leader, " Washington is to the left of the American Flag and commanded a force of 17,000 French/ Continental troops."
