Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • "I have to get out of here. There is no way I'm staying here for any longer."
  •   Conflict/ Rising Action
  • "I'm hungry..... appear."
  • Rising Action
  • "Eat."
  •     Cold silence filled the air. My eyes stared forward. The same brown wall stared back at me, and it was the same way it had for the past 15 years. 180 months. 5,400 days.129,600 hours. 7,776,000 minutes. 466,560,000 seconds. And I wasn't ready to back down. I would find who did this. I would find who trapped me in this box. Just wait and see.
  • Rising Action
  • My knees ached to stretch out, my bones cracking as I attempted to flex out my knee. It doesn't hurt anymore since this is part of my everyday routine. My dry scaly skin begged for moisture to sooth it. For 15 years I've tried every which way to get out of here and now I'm starting to think that the key to my escape is right in front of my eyes. This box is impossible. "I'm hungry."I thought. "Appear." I commanded.
  • Climax
  • "I guess the key came out when I was trying to shake the box!"
  • "If this is the key to my handcuffs and the door, then this could be my way out! Just focus Callie, and get yourself out of here!"
  • This weeks meal appeared in front of me.It was a hamburger and water. "Eat." I said, and the mechanical hand scooped up the burger and put it into my mouth. My hands are useless and handcuffed together and there wasn't enough space for my fingertips to pick up things. The person who trapped me didn't know that I had powers. The word "appear" only worried when I needed food, water, medicine,or a blanket. Too bad it didn't work on getting out of here.
  •                Falling Action/ Resolution
  • But I wasn't going to back down.I fumbled around trying to free myself, just like I've been trying to for years. The box shook mildly as I fumbled side to side, but it didn't go anywhere because the two thick rods were holding it down. My breath is ragged with defeat. My eyes traveled around the box, feeling as if the world was spinning but there was no where to go. Suddenly a gleaming, silver object took the center of my vision.
  • " Oh my god!! Its a key!!"
  • " This. Can't. Be. Real. " I thought frozen and it was as if a cold ice froze my body. " Is it the key to the padlock?" I asked myself, shaking at just the thought of escaping. Just one turn to the padlock on the mini door in this prison. And I will be free. And it was the key. It was all the way in the top right hand corner of the box. How was I going to get it from the top?It didn't matter. I was going to get out, one was or another." Think. think. think." I pressured myself. But then it dawned to me. There were two long rods holding up the box, and they were pushed into the ground, which meant that I was probably inside somewhere..... Anyway, if I kicked and somehow pulled the rod out of the ground I could use my legs to hoist up the rod, and the key could fall through the hole in the rod. I just had to get the key, hope that this key is the key to my handcuffs and the door, and get out before this whole box topples over. I just had to get the key, hope that this key is the key to my handcuffs and the door, and get out before this whole box topples over.
  • I start kicking the rod and my shoes get holes in them, bruising my feet. I can already see blood oozing out at the effect of kicking the sharp nails on the rod. My feet do everything that they can, and finally the rod topples over and I let out a cry of happiness. I pull the rod with my feet and position my toes to carry and hoist up the rod. My plan works and the key falls through. I pull the key towards me with my feet and pick it up with my mouth. I crane my neck as much as I can and twist the key in to the lock. One hand is free. Even though my hand is limp I struggle, and with shakiness I unlock my other hand. And just before the box falls down, I open the mini door and sprint out of my nightmare.  Lesson Learned: When things seem hard, even if you've given it your all, never stop trying :)
