~He was born February 13,1728 and died October 16, 1793. ~John Hunter was a Scottish surgeon and was established as one of the best surgeons of his days.

What did he do?
~In 1760 he was commissioned as an Army surgeon. ~He was on an expedition to the French island of Belle lle then on another one with the British Army to Portugal.
~He was the founder of pathlogical of anatomy. ~Hunter was an advocate of investigation and experimentation. ~John Hunter went to three school; St George's, University of London, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and St Bartholomew's Hospital. ~He never completed any of his studies at theses universitie.
~John attempted to show that gonorrhea and syphilis are demonstrated by a single cell disease. ~He wrote some books called: ~" The Natural History of the Human Teeth". ~"A treatise on the Venereal Disease". `"Observation on Certain Parts of the Animal Oeconomy". ~" A Treatise on the Blood, Inflammation, and Gun-shot Wounds.
~One of John Hunters achievements was the Copley Medal which is a scientific award given by the Royal Society, for "outstanding achievements in research in any branch of science".
~ John Hunter had numerous contribution to medicine. He transformed surgery from manually to experimental science. he wrote numerous books about teeth and began scientific dentistry. he founded the Hunterian Museum.
