  •    King Odysseus and Penelope, his wife, are at home in Ithaca with their newborn son, Telemachus.
  • Mentor/Helper/Assisitance
  • Odysseus is asked to come help in the battle at Troy.
  • Cross The Threshold/Departure
  • Odysseus hesitates to go since his son Telemachus was just born. He doesn't want to leave them and his country since the journey will be take time.
  • Test/Allies/Enemies/Trials
  • Odysseus decides to go help at Troy, the Goddess Athena acts as his mentor and guide for the journey.
  • Odysseus helps win the battle of Troy, now it is time to start home back to his beloved wife and child. However the Gods have a different plan.
  • On Odysseus' way home they he meets the God Aeolus. His men become greedy and disobey the orders. This sets them back on their journey home.  Later they meet Polyphemus a cannibalistic giant that eats some of Odysseus' men and he has to find a way to escape safely with the rest of his men.
