Along his travels Odysseus meets Circe a witch-like Goddess. She turns his men into swine and Odysseus must obey her to be able to get his men back safely.
Odysseus has to go to the underworld to find out how to make it back home from Tiresias a blind prophet.
Odysseus is able to make it to an island inhabited by other humans. The king of the island realizes who he is and decides to help him make it home.
When he makes it back to Ithaca he learns of the suitors that are currently staying at his home trying to win over his Penelope to become king.
From his adventure Odysseus is able to think things through and comes up with a plan to dress up as a beggar and look around in his house freely.
While Odysseus is there Penelope had come up with a test to choose the suitor to become the new king. Odysseus wins the archery contest and disposes of the suitors. Once Penelope sees him she doesn't believe it's him, however, Odysseus explains to her about their bed and how it can never move. This convinces Penelope and they live happily together.
