Storyboard Text

  • Exposition: The narrator starts the story by trying to persuade his readers that his actions were justified and that he wasn't crazy
  • Conflict: The narrator stays in the same building as the man with the "scary" eye. He says the eye looks like a vultures eye with a film over it.
  • Rising Action: Over the next eight days the narrator plots to kill the old man to get rid of the eye. Every night she watches the old man sleep to see the eye.
  • Climax: One night the old man woke up and screamed. Then the narrator pulled the old man out of his bed and smothered him until he couldn't hear the mans screams or heart beat.
  • Falling Action: Their neighbor hears all the noise and calls 911. The narrator tries to say he was the one screaming and the old man wasn't home.
  • Resolution: The police show up and the narrator hears a ticking noise. He believes the ticking noise is the mans heartbeat and is counting down for him to confess. He finally confesses to the police.
