Suzy's used-to-be best friend, Franny, drowns on a summer trip and dies. Suzy has a hard time accepting this because she was sure Franny was a great swimmer.
Suzy's class takes a field trip to an aquarium.
While the rest of Suzy's class is at the touch tank, Suzy wanders off to the jellyfish exhibit.
THIS IS HOW FRANNY DIED!
Suzy sees a plaque on the wall of the jellyfish exhibit about the Irukandji Jellyfish. Basically, the plaque said that this kind of jellyfish's sting is deadly and is usually found in warm waters but has recently been found in cooler waters around the U.S. Suzy gets convinced this is how Franny died.
Suzy begins to do lots of research on the Irukandji Jellyfish and even contacts a few jellyfish experts in hope to prove the jellyfish as the cause of Franny's death.
Suzy gets in contact with a jellyfish expert named Jamie who lives in Australia. She tells him all about Franny and what she's trying to prove.
