  • The word choice throughout this short story was very specific to show the relationship between the two brothers and how the narrator treats her brother.

  • The Imagery throughout "The Scarlet Ibis" was very spooky and always made the story seem negative and have a negative connotation.
  • The style of this short story was a narrative since there is a narrator telling the story from their point of view. 
  • An important theme in "The Scarlet Ibis" is never be selfish. Always look out for others because you never know what could happen to someone you love the most.
