  • The 5 step process of programming
  • By: Eric Lundy
  • Step 1: Identify the Problem (What are you trying to do)
  • Determine the requirements and specifications needed to fulfill the requirements of the program.
  • Design example The Top-Down Design a logical hierarchical (Upside down pyramid)
  • One solution method is to create an algorithm a set of step to reach a solution
  • Step 2: Design the solution (How is it going to be done)
  • Several designs for algorithms exist such as An outline Pseudocode or a flowchart
  • The process of modularization involves breaking down the problems into smaller pieces so that individually they can be easily solved.
  •
  • Step 3: Write the program (Teaching the computer) *Choose the the programming language best suited to the problem you are facing . *Make sure to follow the proper syntax of the language precisely. *Follow good programming style keep it organized.
  • Alpha Testing Reading through the program to look for errors in logic and make sure data input and output is properly functioning.
  •
  • Step 4: Test the program (Debug and run the program) Test the program by debugging and running the program multiple times to look for issues
  • Beta Testing Using real world data to test your program
  • Step 5: Document and maintain the program (Explaining the program to others) Use documentation to create guides for other uses and don't forget to comment to help others understand the process of the code and keep it organized.
