  • HAHA! He doesn't see the trap
  • Rainsford faced a scary giant, Ivan, holding a gun, as he approached the door of the castle. There was conflict between the two because the giant didn't know the sailor which scared Rainsford.
  • Man vs. Self
  • Should I try and escape off this terrible island?
  • Should I play the awful game and kill the general, to take over his castle?
  • Rainsford participated in the 3 day dangerous game with the general. This game involved the two competitors to hunt each other which then created conflict throughout the story.
  • General was faced with a man vs. nature conflict because of the many obstacles he had to dodge throughout the island. Rainsford put many traps on the island, so that the general would trip in them and loose the game.
  • Rainsofrd knew the game was not easy and was very dangerous when he found out that general killed humans. When he asked Rainsford to play, he didn't feel right killing real living humans. He was faced with a man vs. self conflict to decide his choice.
