Storyboard Text

  • 1. Evolution of the Cheetah
  • 2. Variations in a Population
  • Cheeta 1
  • Cheeta 2
  • 3. Competition and Struggle for Existence
  • Cheeta 1
  • I am soooooo hungry!
  • I am sooooooo full!
  • Cheeta 2
  • Above is a picture of a Cheetah in its environment.
  • 4. Survival of the Fittest
  • In this image Cheeta 1 is faster than Cheeta 2, therefore it can catch the prey quicker. This is now necessary because the prey has evolved to run faster.
  • 5. Evolution = Change Over Time
  • Since Cheetah 2 was slower than Cheetah 1 it struggles to survive and find food. However, since Cheetah 1 was faster than Cheetah 2 and was able to catch the prey, it can survive and find food easily.
  • The End
  • Eventually, Cheetah 2 dies because he cannot find food, which makes it harder to survive. Nonetheless, Cheetah 1 is still able to catch prey and survive. Cheetah 1 also mates with a fast Cheetah (Cheetah 3) and they both pass on their fast genes to their offsprings.
  • Cheeta 3
  • Cheetah 2's Grave
  • Cheeta 1
  • Cheetah 1 & 3 Babies
  • Eventually, all the slow Cheetahs, like Cheetah 2, die. While the fast Cheetahs remain and produce offspring with fast genes until the entire population is fast and best adapted to their environment.
  • Fast Cheetahs surviving and being able to catch prey.
  • Slow Cheetah's Grave
  • In this situation, the environment selected the fast cheetahs to be the best adapted to their environment. Which led for the population to change over time and become faster as a whole, until everybody was fast and all the slow ones had died.
