Prisoner B-3087 Main Theme of survival
The story begins in Krakow Poland in a ghetto for Jews during WWII
The main character, Yanek Gruener a 10 year old boy at the time, had his family taken away by the Nazis while they where at work, he finds them in a crowd being taken to the trucks heading to the camps and jumps in with his family
After arriving to the first Camp Yanek is quickly separated from family and is struggling to survive with only stale bread and watery soup.
Help is on the way, but as the allied troops arrive and get closer the Nazis take Yanek and others into trains to move them into a new camp, while in the train there's so much time as people die of starvation inside. He switched camps 7 times so far.
Once in the camp, infamously known as Auschwitz, he encounters his uncle who ignores him at first due to the fact that Nazis are known to kill if you know one another, his uncle helps him inside getting him high quality food and warning him about the camp leader and his ruthlessness, Yanek has many close death encounters in this camp.
But after a long 6 years of being nothing but a prisoner only known as B-3087, the day came where the camp got attacked by allies, finally freed, Yanek looks at the US soldiers who are crying and shocked by the view of the bodies in the ditches and the condition of the prisoners, at last he was one of the few to survive.
