The true story(board) of the PIliavin experiment
This storyboard does not have a description.
Oh my God! He stabbed me! Please help me!
Hmm i wonder why all those people walked past that Kitty Genovese girl, does it have something to do with diffusion of responsibility?
i have an idea! Lets conduct a field experiment in the New York subway to see the latency between a victim collapsing and people helping him up.
You will all act out both a drunk person and an ill person and collapse in the middle of the train after 70 seconds, you will then stay there until someone helps you.
thats not going to happen , ill only play the ill person, not the drunk they're dirty
Its a mans job to help
109 seconds later he received help from someone other than the model.
50% of the time the drunk victim was helped (19/38 trials)
after a mean of 5 seconds, he received spontaneous help
95% of the time, the ill person received help, (62/65 trials)
if i don't help, someone else will
