My Immigrants Story
By areya, Updated
This is Marissa's life starting when she was younger and in Mexico all the way to her new life in America.
My name is Emma and I'm 27 years old and I live in Dublin, Ireland.
During the 1800's, Ireland was going through a time of the famous Potato Famine as well as suppression from Britain.
" Sir is there still room on the voyage to America?"
" Yes Emma there is still room but the boat leaves tonight at 11PM SHARP"
Emma, along with other men and women from Dublin are leaving to America for religious freedom and a surplus of food.
These immigrants would be on the water for about a month long, they'd end up getting to the Port of Entry in Ellis Island, New York.
We've made it lads! Were here! Look at that.. Ellis Island.
