Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • The king loved his daughter very much. She was "the apple of his eye". However, the princess had fallen in love with a young man who was not royalty. This did not please the king. He did not approve of it and had the young man sent to prison.
  • Climax
  • Which?
  • The king's way of trial did not involve judges. The criminal would be able to choose from two doors. One door had a tiger behind it that would instantly kill the criminal and the other door had a lady behind it who the criminal would instantly have to marry. Since the king did not like the young man his daughter was in love with, he put him on trial to where he would have to choose a door.
  • Falling Action
  • The princess was able to find out which door the tiger was behind and which door the lady was behind. The princess had to decide if she wanted to watch her lover get eaten by a tiger or marry another woman. She only had the few days before the trial to decide.
  • Resolution
  • On the day of the trial the young man stood before the king and princess. He somehow knew the princess would find out what was behind which door. The young man looked to the princess for her to make the decision. The princess raised her hand and made a slight, quick movement to her right.
  • The young man was the only one to see what the princess had done. He turned around and walked to the right. When he got to the right door, he opened it.
  • When he opened the door it was the lady. The princess loved the young man so much that she chose the door with the lady in it so he could live a happy life and the king wouldn't dislike him anymore. Because the princess was so unselfish she ended up falling in love with a royal prince that her father approved of and she lived a very happy life after all.
