  • -John Marshall {secretary of state} failed to send seventeen commissions. -One of the failed sent commissions was a man called William Marbury, he took his case to the supreme court and told them that they have to send him the commission                                                                                                                                                                      
  • Arguement for the respondent
  • -Does Marbury have a right to the commission. -Did Marbury have a right to take the case to the united states supreme court.
  • Decision
  • -Argued that his appointments were valid because the president nominated him and the senate confirmed his position. -Marbury wanted for the supreme court to send him the commission.
  • -The court could simply just ignore Marbury, the court had no power to enforce it.
  • guess we'll just ignore him.
  • -Marbury never was granted his commission because it was valid.
