Ahlers Literacy Narrative Storyboard
This storyboard does not have a description.
As an elementary school and middle school student I often struggled to comprehend what I was reading. Everything went in one ear and out the other.
After a year of not asking for help, I fell behind other students in my class on many of my reading exams because I couldn't give anyone a detailed description of what I'd read.
Things had gotten to the point where my mom was contacted to see why I was falling so far behind. After this she sat me down to see what was going on.
She decided to start reading with me each night in the hopes that'd improve my scores and help me overall as a reader.
We worked together each night, usually with my mom reading to me. I began to remember things from the text that my mother had been reading to me.
After lots of work with my mom, I began to feel confident reading on my own and became able to remember information I read. After bettering my comprehensive reading skills, I was finally able to bring up my scores and better myself for future English classes.
