  • My Multiple Intelligences
  • Introduction
  • Over the years technology has been advancing at a rapid pace, but unfortunately we are still using standardized testing that doesn't showcase ones true abilities; limiting individuals into the limited thinking of who created those test.
  • Arianna Ramotar February 19, 2019
  • So I took a multiple intelligence quiz today to help me decide what careers are suitable for me and what my strengths are.
  • Introduction
  •  Tell me about it. What occupations did it suggest and do u think your intelligences match you??? Like have they applied in the past for you?
  • Logical/Mathematical 72%
  • My top intelligence is Logical/Mathematical intelligence which is learning best through logical and critical thinking. It includes the ability to work with numbers and problems solving through mathematically and scientifically means.
  •  I love to redesign spaces, once my mom asked me to measure a door frame to determine the sizing of the barn doors we would need to replace them. I came to the conclusion that if the door frame was 6 ft wide and 7 ft high then we would need two 3 ft wide by 7 ft high doors.
  •  Fortunately, Howard Gardner created the theory of multiple intelligences in 1983. This theory is meant to categorize people to where their strengths are.
  • Intrapersonal 70%
  • O hi Nijhum! I'm just drawing my feelings. It's just easier to let out emotion through drawing.
  • My top 3 intelligences are Logical/Mathematical, Intrapersonal, and Bodily/Kinesthetic. There are many different situations that I believe show that these 3 intelligences suit me.
  • Bodily/Kinesthetic 69%
  • Oh it's just my feet. They are paining again. It's just my old age nothing to worry about.
  •   When measuring the door I realized that it wasn't the standard sizing of a double door opening. Using critical thinking and my mathematical skills I was able to determine the sizing of the door and find that we could custom build the doors. This relates back to logical/mathematical thinking which helped me solve the problem showing that I do fall under this intelligence.
  • Financial Analyst
  • Hi, I’ve been told that my investments have been making me lose money. Can you help me change that so I can start saving more for my kid’s college funds?
  • I have always kept my emotions to myself, but I have always known how I feel without a question. In the situation above I'm drawing things that are related to the way I am feeling. I am using my strength of drawing to let out the weakness of my emotions. Being a intrapersonal means that I know myself well. This is how I am able to communicate my emotions so well through drawing and know my strengths and weaknesses.
  •  My second intelligence is intrapersonal. This intelligence is the ability of someone knowing themself well. They have deep understanding of themself and are able to identify their morals, emotions, strengths, weaknesses and more.
  • What are you drawing Arianna? Why does it seem so sad??
  • Ever since I was little, I have seen my grandma with arthritis pain in her knees and feet. I soon didn’t like seeing her in so much pain, so I learned how to give leg messages to help her with the pain. I used my ability to learn things through bodily motion to help my grandma. Looking back now having the bodily/kinesthetic intelligence is what allowed me to memorize how and where to message to relive the pain in my grandma’s legs.
  • My third intelligence is bodily/kinesthetic. This intelligence is when someone using their body to problem solve. They are skillful when dealing with objects and have complete control of bodily motion.
  • Well then let me help. Let me message your feet for you, it should help with the pain.
  • What's wrong Grandma?
  • I analyze data given to me from the past to create a detailed plan for betterment in the future making sure that my clients get the most money from their investments.
  • A financial analyst is suitable for me because of my logical/mathematical intelligence. The job entails a large usage of problem solving through critical thinking and math. The job is to analyze results, investment patterns, and stock patterns  to identify trends and create plans.
  • I would consider this for a future job as it entails a lot of different aspects that I am intrigued by. It would allow me to keep busy as it is a very detailed focused job. Also as I would create plans using management and mathematical skills perfect for a logical/mathematical intelligence person like myself.
  • Of course, I can that’s my job.
