  • Meeting of the state general 
  • The fresh revolution was a time in France When the people of France removed monarchy from power and took control of the government.
  • The tennis court oath
  • 1. New ideas about goverment 2. Serious economic problems 3. Weak leadership 4. Not enough food 5. Growing resentment among lower classes.
  • The storming of the Bastille
  • At the Estates General the clergy and nobles thought they were going to dominate like they did in the Middle Ages. The rule was each estates delegates went to a seperate hall to vote. The two privileged estates always outvote the third estate. But the third estate wanted some change.
  • The great fear 
  • The National Assembly was locked out of their meeting room so they went to there indoor tennis court, pledged to stay until they had made a new constitution. 
  • Make a new constitution!
  • A mob searched for gunpowder and stormed the Bastille. Scared one of the guards seized control of the building, attackers killed commander and guards. The fall of the Bastille turned into a great act of revolution for the french people.
  • Outlaws swept threw Paris with weapons and broke into the nobles manor and destroyed documents that bound them to pay feudal dues or they would burn down the houses.
