We know there's a problem, Claude. Just tell us what it is.
Can we just finish our drill?
Regardless of my pleas, Jay and Mack persisted in their efforts to get me to talk about my problem. The truth was, the relationship between my parents was growing more tense by the day. Soccer was my haven from the chaos at home.
What's up with you? You're acting all weird
The only problem is that there are so many people better than me at soccer in the school. Plus, the situation at home isn't helping. Not to mention that I barely have time to focus on soccer due to my busy schedule.
I'm in eighth grade now. This is my last chance to make the school soccer team. I need to do everything I can to try and make the team.
How will I make the soccer team? I have only until the day after tomorrow to practice. It's useless to waste my time on this. I have no chance of making the team.
In my anger, I unknowingly went deeper into the woods, deeper than I had ever been.
It's just like how my hopes are broken. If I try my best, I have the potential to make the soccer team.
Wow, look at this whirligig! It's wings are almost broken, it has bird poop on it, but it still manages to spin. It's amazing how this works.
So I quickly finished my homework the next day, skipped my TV time, and headed out to the soccer field. I spent countless hours just practicing alone. Finally, I felt I was ready.
Congrats Mr. Claude Charpentier . You have been chosen for the Rander's Middle School soccer team.
Yay! Great job Claude!
Yes! Thank you sir!
I owe my success to the whirligig. No matter how stacked the odds are against you, if you believe in yourself, you will succeed. Never ever lose hope.
