July 2nd, 1932 President Franklin Roosevelt gave his new deal speech.
1933 Roosevelt declared a "bank holiday" where all the banks were to be closed.

In 1941 the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor getting the US involved in WW2 leading to the end of the Great Depression
