Us black woman don't get treated properly being with the white woman! We are underpaid and humiliated!
I know you are telling the maids about the laws! You better stop
1962 In Jackson Mississippi, Aibileen was a maid working for a white lady by the name of Elizabeth. Aiblieen was not getting payed what she deserved only because she was a colored woman.
Aiblieen and other maids are stuck on whether to help Skeeter write a book about the life of colored people. They don't know if they should help because they could be at risk of looking there jobs, however they do decide to help with the book.
Oh yes I did!
Did you hear about Aibeleen and Skeeter!?
Furthermore, Hilly a friend of Skeeter found out that she was telling the maids about the laws. That made Skeeter be more precocious with her book and the stories she had.
When the book was finally put out in Jackson Mississippi it got a lot of recognition from the white folks and the colored as well. Skeeter was just afraid of anyone finding out it was made by her.
Gossip speculations about Aibeleen and Skeeter were spreading through town. At that point when Hilly read the book, she read a terrible part about herself and persuaded people it wasn't about her to save herself from shame.
No this is not about here
Aibileen is no longer a maid and Skeeter moved to New York to become and Author.
