These are the events that caused the Civil War, and some of the battles.

  • Slavery was a big part of what started the Civil War. In the North they didn't use slavery because they didn't need it. In the south, they relied on it.
  • Abraham Lincoln was elected president in November of 1860. This was a big tension between the North and the South.
  • South Carolina was the first state to leave the United States. This was almost immediately after Lincoln was elected. South Carolina seceded on December 20, 1860
  • I'm South Carolina and I'm LEAVING
  • Come ON South Carolina! I'm Washington, and this is just OUTRAGEOUS!
  • The Battle of Fort Sumter was the first battle of the Civil War. This battle lasted two days form April 12-14, 1861
  • BOOM
  • The Battle of Gettysburg was the bloodiest battle of the Civil War. This occurred from July 1-3, 1863.
  • BOOM
  • The Union won the war and they brought the slaves freedom. They brought the United in "United States".
