  • The Devil and Tom Walker
  • Boston, 1727. Local legends told of the lost treasure of a pirate by the name of Captain Kidd buried near Boston. One day, a man named Tom Walker was taking a shortcut through the swamp to return home.
  • Along the way, he came across a skull, and upon kicking it a dark figure appeared with red eyes. This man identified himself as the Devil, and struck a deal with Tom. Tom could gain Captain Kidd's treasure, but in turn, his soul would belong to the Devil.
  • Upon returning home, Tom explained the deal he had been given to his wife. After hearing about the strange man in the swamp, she gathered up all the valuable items from the house and set off to try to get the treasure for herself, however after many nights passed, she still did not return.
  • Tom decides to search for her and eventually comes across her apron tied to a tree. Upon closer inspection, he discovers that a heart and liver are in the apron, supposedly those of his wife.
  • He later came across the Devil again. This time, however, he agrees to the bargain, and sells his soul to the Devil.
  • Upon returning home, Tom explained the deal he had been given to his wife. After hearing about the strange man in the swamp, she gathered up all the valuable items from the house and set off to try to get the treasure for herself, however after many nights passed, she still did not return.
