  • Pierre de Fermat was born on December 6,1607 Beaumont-de-Lomagne, France. He lived in Toulouse, France. Fermat died January 12,1665 in Castres,France. His life was France. :)

  • His father was Dominique Fermat.He was a wealthy businessman who dealt in agricultural products. This includes items like wheat, wine and cattle. His mother was Claire de Long, who came from an aristocratic family. Pierre was a great math student in school. All he wanted to do is Math. He grew up smart and went went to the school of law in Orleans.

  • Pierre de Fermat studied law at Orleans and recieved the title of councillor at the High Court if Judicature in Toulouse in 1631, and held on for the rest of his life.

  • Fermat married his first wife,mother's cousin, Louise de Long, on 1 June 1631. Fermat had a brother, Clément, and two sisters, Louise and Marie. He had five kids.....Clément-Samuel,Jean,Claire,Catherine and Louise.
  • Fermat was famous for the "Fermat Theorem." This was the sum of two square states that any odd prime number be the sum of two square numbers if ,and only if, it leaves a remainder of 1 divided by 4.
  • The "Little Theorem" sometimes is used when you're testing large prime numbers, and is the basis of the codes which protect our credit cards in Internet transactions today. He helps us a lot.
