In 6 boards talk about one aspect of the three revolutions, Haitian, American, or French.
I choose french and the aspect I covered the rule of Napolean.
Under Napolean ~Set up a national bank ~Open public school for all ~Reform tax collection ~Napoleonic code ~Restored Slavery ~Limited freedom of speech ~Omit women's right to sell land.
~Crowned self emperor ~Expanded France so much, France ruled most of Europe. ~sold Louisiana for $15 million to America, win-win because it helped French with its debt and pissed of Great Britan because it strengthened America and creating a rival with England. ~People were ok with his rule but he later made 3 mistakes that cost him everything...
1.) Blockade Against GB: Napolean decided to create a blockasde between Europe and GB. This was bad for Gb because GB is an island so they get resources through ports. THis was a huge mistake because during this time GB had the strongest navy, so they attacked France back. This hit France back in the face.
2.)Sending troops to Portugal and Spain Napolean sent troops to Portugal and Spain because the Portuguese were trading with Great Britan. Spain attacked back with guerillas and many other countries with weak nationalism towards France fought against the French. Napolean lost the war and lost prestige towards the French. France was starting to get really mad now...
Portuguese and Spain
Spain and Portuguese won!!!
3.)Attacking Russia Napolean wanted to invade Russia because they were selling grain to England. Alexander (Russian ruler)led French troops to burned crops. Winter hit the french they were unprepared, no food, shelter, etc. Allies of Russia forced Napolean to surrender. France GREATLY lost troops, other allies, support, and grew hatred for Napolean.
The Russians exiled me! I tried to escape to regain power but soon late the French sent me back to live in St.Helena. I lived for 6years in exile before I died alone on this island.
