Post Traumatic Stress disorder is a disorder that is caused from seeing a terrifying incident. An example of a type of group that can suffer from this disorder combat veterans who suffer from this disorder from fighting wars.
PTSD can occur at any age. It occurs more often in women than in men.
Symptoms are usually depression, shutting self indoors, excluding self from group activities. Current treatments are medications, therapy, and trying to be around friends and family.
War veterans brought PTSD to the public's attention.
But anyone can get it.
PTSD can be caused by a threat or physical harm.
The harm that caused the illness to the person could have been the one getting harmed or it was someone they saw who was harmed.
