  • Battle of Bull Run
  • McLean decided to move!
  • On July 21, 1861 in Manassas Junction, Virginia a bomb exploded in the kitchen of William McLean during The Battle of Bull Run took place.
  • This is a beautiful parlor!
  • The war began in McLean's front yard.
  • General Lee surrendered to general Grant
  • Lets both meet in a parlor of a local farmer.
  • McLean moved him and his family about 200 miles away from the battle.
  • !!!
  • The war began in my front yard and ended in my front parlor!
  • His family and him settled in Appomattox Court House,Virginia.
  • General Lee agreed to meet with general Grant to discuss the surrender. Both generals were near the town Appomattox Court House and agreed to meet in a front parlor of a local farmer.
  • I'm here to discuss the terms of the confederate surrender. 
  • Turned out the parlor belonged to William McLean.
