Storyboard Text

  • Hi, My name is Missy ;short for Melissa and today I am going to tell you all about farming and populism.
  • Well first thing is, farmers had gotten so tired of having to not have any political power in 1890's, so then they all formed the populist party to make there own decisions and be happier.
  • The farmers wanted a policy that would raise crop prices. There were advocates of the free silver act, which would put more money in circulation, causing inflation, and also turn raising the price of wheat. This would give farmers back some of the money that they had lost.
