When Jeannette's parents arrive to Phoenix they realize that their house had been looted, they lost the majority of their belongings, because their car broke down for good just outside Nashville and they had to leave the rented trailer behind that carried what was left of their stuff. when they return, Erma tells them that they are not welcome back in the house and dad blamed the kids. Jeanette wants to go home but her parents will not even consider going back to Phoenix because they are too convinced that there are many opportunities in Welch.
