It has been hot hot the last couple of days that we decided to come to the community pool.

There was a surface wave sent out which was caused by an earthquake. It is a seismic waves that have huge amplitudes and longer wavelengths.
When it is really hot those particles are heat waves. Heat waves are a long period of time with very hot weather that is not normal.
Objects in space are kept away from the Earth's surface because of electrogmagnetic waves that keep them floating in space, like gravity.
