  • This may scare me off school dances forever
  • Why
  • Holding up the Universe was publishes on April 4, 2016 by Penguin Books. I was written by Jennifer Niven and has 387   pages.
  • Because I'm sitting next to you on this swing and you're beautiful.
  • My palms are sweaty
  • In this part of the story Libby and Jack  meet for the first time. Jack was dared by his friends to  take part in "Fat Girl Rodeo".  They see who can hold on the an overweight girl the longest. In response Libby punches Jack in front of the whole school to get him off of her. Jack did not want to take part in this.
  • I can't be with you Libby, We can't do this you deserve to be seen.
  • What are you saying to me, Jack?
  • On their last day of  their support group with the guidance counselor. They had a makeshift school dance. All the kids were forced to dance together, including Libby and Jack. This is the moment they realized they liked each other.
  • Your identifier is you. I remember your face.
  • I love you. It's weird I mean you.
  • I love you too.
  • On their first date Jack takes  Libby to a pizza place he went to when he was in the hospital, it's special to him but its also a county over. Libby thinks he took her there so they wouldn't be seen. To prove he doesn't care if people see he puts on her favorite song and dances with her in the middle of the restaurant.
  • Jack feels that if Libby would ever lose weight he wouldn't be able to know who she is because of his prosopagnosia . He breaks up with her  . He doesn't want to hurt her but his disability is making him think he'll never have a  normal life with her.
  • Jack realizes he misses Libby and that she didn't need her weight for him to identify her. He finds her at a park with her therapist and explains himself. He tells her he remembers her face, that's the only face her remembers.  He remembers the little details because he loves her. They both confess their love for each other.
