  • Nutrients and Carbbohydrates
  • nutrients are the chemicals in food that hep your body function.
  • The 6 basic nutrients are Carbohydrates, sugar, starches, fibers, proteins and  fats.
  • A few of the foods that are carbs are grains,  potatoes, and corn.
  • Carbohydrates provide the most efficient energy. 
  • Sugars are simple carbs. some foods have natural sugars and others have refined sugars.
  • some natural sugars are fruits, grains and milks and some refined sugars are table sugars, molasses, and lactose.
  • Starches are a complex carb there is more then one part that makes up the carb.
  • when they are digested it  breaks down into glucose. Some foods are grains, corn, potatoes. 
  • Fiber is a plan material that canot be digested, but necessary for moving food through the digestive system 
  • fiber reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease. three examples of food that have fiber are; fruits, veggies, and whole grains.
