  • The Gettysburg Address speech was talked to a crowd of people on Nov. 19, 1863. Lincoln said in the speech that he praised the brave soldiers of the Union that fought in the Civil War. This speech also pumped up the Union to win the rest of the Civil War. Lincoln reminds that the war is being fought for liberty, equality, and democracy. The line that is in the picture is important because  its the start of the address and talks about the US before the War.
  • There were many deaths in the Civil War, about 620,00. There were many battles that lasted for over an hour that which made more deaths. There were about 7,500 deaths for Pickett's Charge and 90,000 deaths in all for the Union. Lincoln had lost all hope in arms. The major turning point of the Civil War was when the south surrendered to the north because that is when the hope came back to the Union and Lincoln.
