Storyboard Text

  • Good morning class! Today we will be learning the stages of Mitosis and Meiosis.
  • I thought they were the same cycle
  • Of course not you guys, IM SO READY TO LEARN
  • Jessie is right, now let's start with the phases of Mitosis
  • Early Prophase is the first stage of mitosis where chromosomes become visible becoming paired chromatids . Containing 46 chromosomes, the spindle fiber forms and the nucleolus disappears
  • When cells are not undergoing Mitosis they are in the Interphase or resting
  • Late Prophase is where the chromosomes finish condensing and the nucleolus finishes breaking down, spindle fibers grow more and entrap the chromosomes
  • Metaphase is where the chromosomes line up in the middle attached to microtubules so that the chromosomes will be split evenly during anaphase
