The main idea In Gn 8 about the Great flood. During this chapter, God cursed the ground because of human beings and their sins. The first thing that happens is Noah had first sent out three birds, a swallow, a dove and a raven. When the dove did not return, this was a sign for Noah to leave the ark that he was in with all of the other animals, his wife, his sons, and his sons wives. Next, water began to dry on the earth that God had cursed and was then assigned by God to release all of the wild and tamed animals onto the earth so they could fertile. Noah then built an altar for the Lord and chose from every animal that was clean. Finally, God said that humans beings would never be the reason of him cursing the earth again. A life lesson we can learn from this passage is to not sin.
"He waited yet seven days and then released the dove; but this time it did not come back"(Gn 8:12)
"Go out of the ark, together with your wife and your sons and your sons' wives. Bring out with you every living thing that is with you-all creatures, be they birds or animals or crawling things that crawl on the earth- and let them abound on the earth, and be fertile and multiply on it "(Gn 8:16-17)
"Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and choosing from every clean animaland every clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar"(Gn 8:20)
Life Lesson: Sin is a powerful thing that should not be used.
