Storyboard Text

  • One day two gods, Aerial and Summer, were playing around.  Aerial pushed Summer off the top of the building. When she was falling she started to flip  and landed on her feet. She thought it was a lot of fun so she told Aerial to try it.  They had lots of fun trying different types of flips.
  • The next day they started to climb on the trees where they started to swing from the tree branches.  It was exciting flipping, swinging from branch to branch and trying to do the craziest dismounts.  That's how bars became part of the sport.
  • Another day there was a big storm in the morning and by the afternoon it was sunny again.  There were branches down everywhere.  The two gods started to walk across the branches and started doing tricks to see who could do the craziest things without falling off.  They started to do it on smaller branches until it was 4 inches wide and they thought it was a challenge.  So now beam is part of the sport and the beam is 4 inches wide.
  • Now the two gods wanted to see what they could do on the ground.  They started trying different tricks.  They did a cartwheel and then Aerial which is a cartwheel with no hands. Since Ariel was the first to perfect the Ariel they named the move after her.  This is how the floor routine became part of the sport.
  • On the same day they started to do front handsprings over a tree stump. They both had  a lot of fun so then they did it over something wider and longer. They started to see who could do it best and that's how vault became part of the sport.
  • Aerial and Summer decided to see who could do better stunts.  They got two separate teams together and started to practice.  The next weekend they competed against each other.  Their friends and family came to watch and cheer them on.  After that it became a sport that the town looked forward to attending on a monthly basis.
