  • The African revolution is about people coming into Africa and taking over land to try and make it a "white" land.  
  • Protest
  • Afrikaans in school!!!!
  • The British take over the land were they found diamonds and over things worth something. British took over much of the land in Africa s people started to leave.
  • Revolution
  • Leaders and the Gov. established separate areas for different races. People classified as black had to carry passes that restricted them from moving around freely. 
  • Recovery
  • In the town of Soweto many Black African school children went out and marched to protest for the use of Afrikaans. The ANC organized many marches, strikes, and many other protests.
  • Because of the protest in Sharpeville the police had shot 69 blacks in that protest. In the protest in Soweto 575 people were killed and most of them being black.
  • The government had finally permitted different race marriage, blacks no had full voting rights, freedom of speech, expression, education and heath care. After so many changes about 1 million people moved to South Africa.
