Storyboard Text

  • What is being foreshadowed is that Mr. Travis is telling then to stay on the path. Which Eckels fails to do so.
  • Stay on the path. Don't go off of it. I repeat. Don't go off. For any reason.
  • "Far bird's cries blew on a wind, and the smell of tar and an old salt sea, moist grasses, and flowers the color of blood."
  • This quote creates imagery which appeals to the senses of smell and sight. This quote also makes the reader see the moist grasses and the blood-colored flowers.
  • Sound like a gigantic bonfire burning all of Time
  • The tone is intense and suspenseful
  • An example of tone from this story is when Eckel's first question is "Does this safari guarantee I come back alive?" Wait, what The reader immediately begins to question exactly why a time safari would.
  • The theme is that humans should not play with the course of nature, it can have catastrophic results.
  • The genre of The Sound of Thunder is science fiction. In the story of space travel, but in the future of this story, every-day people get to make the trip, not just scientists and astronauts.
