I buy a lot of chips and candy every morning. I have a problem. I need help.
That sounds like a motif.
Well, a motif are repeating ideas.
What does motif mean???
So what she said was an example of motif??
Yea exactly, another example of motif was old vs. new from BGD, it says "we'll do all the stuff we always did, hear the same jokes, catch fireflies.."(108)This supported old in old vs. new. This explains what they used to do before they moved with their grandparents.
Ohhh, how about "new" in old vs. new.
Well for "new" it says "We wear ribbons every day except Saturday when we wash them by hand.." (121) They had to get used to wearing ribbons every day except Saturday, which is when they wash it. That is something new they have to get used to.
Is there another example from BGD that explains either?
Of course, there is. In the book "new" from old vs. new, it says"Monday night is Bible study with a Brother and Sister..", "Tuesday night is Bible study.." ,"Wednesday night is laundry night.."(119) This explained that they had a schedule throughout the whole week every week. It was something new for them to get used to.
So overall motif are repeating ideas. I hope you now understand what it means.
Yea , thanks both of you for explaining it to me.
