  • This process is transcription. The DNA is being unzipped and being turned into one strand, also known as mRNA. Messenger RNA is able to pass through the nucleus, unlike DNA, and is much shorter than DNA.
  • After transcription, the DNA has been turned into mRNA, messenger RNA. The mRNA is able to pass through the nucleus to become transfer RNA.
  • Ribosome
  • The mRNA strand moves to the ribosome to make protein. This happens during translation.
  • mRNA
  • tRNA
  • During translation, proteins are being made in the ribosome. mRNA is having the DNA from it being turned into amino acids, brought by tRNA/transfer RNA, which build up the proteins.

  • If a problem is made during either process, transcription or translation, the protein will not be able to function in the proper way. The mistakes could be a major change and could greatly affect the organism.
