Storyboard Text

  • Hebrews originally lived in Canaan. As stated in the Torah, God promised them land. They moved from place to place trying to find it.
  • God chose Abraham to be the "father" of the people.  He was commanded by God to move all of his people to Canaan.
  • Hebrews were monotheists meaning they only had one God.  They believed that their god wasn't an actual person. They had a covenant to protect each other.
  • The Hebrews migrated to Egypt due to a drought but ended up getting forced into slavery. Eventually Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt.
  • While traveling, Moses climbed to the top of Mount Sinai to pray to God. He came back with the Ten Commandments which created a new covenant between God and the Hebrew people.
  • The Hebrews wandered for 40 years but ended up settling in Canaan after Moses died. From there, they made many advancements in their society.
