Hebrews originally lived in Canaan. As stated in the Torah, God promised them land. They moved from place to place trying to find it.
God chose Abraham to be the "father" of the people. He was commanded by God to move all of his people to Canaan.
Hebrews were monotheists meaning they only had one God. They believed that their god wasn't an actual person. They had a covenant to protect each other.
The Hebrews migrated to Egypt due to a drought but ended up getting forced into slavery. Eventually Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt.
While traveling, Moses climbed to the top of Mount Sinai to pray to God. He came back with the Ten Commandments which created a new covenant between God and the Hebrew people.
The Hebrews wandered for 40 years but ended up settling in Canaan after Moses died. From there, they made many advancements in their society.
