Storyboard Text

  • Look at this craft shop, how beautiful! You will later inherit this my son!
  • ...I want to be a artist!
  • I'm so bad at drawing! I'll never be able to be a painter this way!
  • Don't doubt yourself, son. Try something new!
  • Oh poor child, let me help him
  • Once upon a time, lived a boy named Johannes Vermeer, with a lonely life. He had nothing to do, except to sit at his father’s craft shop and watch as his father worked. Vermeer had a deeper love on something else-- art.
  • I'm working! Please don't disturb me!
  • Johannes had always dreamed of being a famous painter, but unfortunately, he has no talent in painting at all. Vermeer’s father often encouraged him to seek for something to try in life. But nothing worked out for him, he was greatly depressed.
  • Even the flowers will bloom in celebration for your arrival!
  • But one day, a beautiful fairy saw his mourns and pitied him. So she decides to creep into his room in midnight and bestow him the talent that he had dreamed of.
  • Oh my, this artwork is stunning!
  • Tell me, who is this lovely girl?
  • Despite Vermeer's sudden capability to create art, he knew to work hard. He worked for days and nights. At last, he succeeded in creating his own shade of blue! Johannes decides to name it after himself, which is now called Vermeer blue.
  • In the same time, he met a beautiful maiden. She was a very pretty girl. So the artist invited her to be the “sitter” for his new artwork “The Girl in the Pearl Earring.”
  • When the painting was finished, everyone in the village was utterly astonished. Praises of Vermeer went flying through the air, but at the same time, they were curious about who was the gorgeous girl in the frame. There was a lot of theories and guesses, but unfortunately, the true identity of the lady forever remained a mystery.
