Nick Vaugaun is rushing around Grand Central Terminal when he bumps into Brooke Dalton. She has lost everything after she been robbed and is now stuck in NY. Nick tries to help her but his card get declined when paying for her cab to Boston.
Nick is trying to recuperate Brookes purse and learns it´s in a place where stolen purses are sold. He gets his punched trying to find it and fails. They´re mistaken for band members and preform in a last attempt to rake up money for a cab.
Brooke is convinced her problems are solved and tells Nick to go after his ex but she´s pregnant. Brooke finds out that her friend didn´t make it in time to get the divorce letter she asked for her husband and so They bond about their problems.
Nick and Brooke share a candid moment were Nick helps console Brooke and takes her to hotel room for shelter and warmth. They draw on the back of a couple of hotel painting as a reflection to a prior joke and kiss to seal the night.
Brooke is about to board a train to go back to Brooklyn. They use the old phone and talk to themselves to pay homage to a prior joke. They say their tearful goodbye and on her way home she finds the, " Rate your stay," sheet they filled in together. Turns it over and find a message unknown to the viewer and the movie ends.
