  • I'm tired of paying more and more fees and rent to live here. I need freedom from their unfair demands
  • I DEMAND THE SAME RIGHTS AS YOU GUYS. I REFUSE TO PAY UNNECESSARY FEES LIVING UNDER YOUR ROOF I WILL GET MY OWN FREEDOM
  • Great Britain became too poor and wanted America to pay off their debts and taxes from the French and Indian War.

  • America was influenced by the ideas of the Enlightenment and wanted to gain their own independence from Great Britain. Due to their distance, they grew politically independent.
  • Yes we agree, this is a great system.
  • In the beginning, America wanted the same rights as British citizens to ultimately gain their independence from England. They no longer tolerated the unfair taxation brought upon them through the Sugar, Stamp, Navigation, Wool, Hat, Quartering, Townshend, and Coercive Tolerable Acts.

  • Washington crosses the Delaware River on December 25, 1776. The British finally surrender to the French and Continental Army signifying the Americans won during the Surrender of Yorktown on October 19, 1781.
  • The Articles of Confederation, written in 1777, was an agreement between the 13 original states that was approved by the Second Continental Congress and served as America's first constitution.
  • The Treaty of Alliance with France in 1778 signified an alliance with America and France in the midst of the American Revolution. France agreed to help America fight Britain until they gained their independence.
